Looking for a source for unpasteurized milk, cheese, butter in/around Austin.

I know this is a controversial topic, so feel free to DM me if you don't want to post on the forum.

TIA.

May your unpasteurized milk moustache be your badge of shame!

I sometimes use this website to try to find sources of better food Eat Wild - Texas

Its mostly meat products but you can try a few of the nearby farms listed there for suggestions. Not sure what the controversy may be but I could care less what you eat as long as you dont try to force it on me.

Farmers market? Anyone with a dairy farm would be happy to accommodate you.

I believe Strykly Farms delivers to Austin, at least they did last year. My neighbor has been picking up her raw milk from them at their delivery point in southwest Austin. I just haven't checked recently if she is still able to get it.

Website: Strykly Texas Cheese

The farm is in Schulenberg, TX. You can try their contact info from the website to see if they still deliver to Austin.

Here's another one from Milam County. They deliver to Round Rock on Friday/Saturday if you are in their CSA or you can drive out to the farm if a non member and want to buy.

I'd say their farm is about 1.5 hrs away (I'm familiar with that area).
If you are going to buy raw milk from a farm I highly suggest you call and go out for a "Farm tour" and look around and ask questions.
"Know your Farmer" is key when buying raw milk.

PRODUCE CSA - Sand Creek Farm (http://www.sandcreekfarm.net/1.html - broken link)

Added: they do schedule Farm Tours and open their store for purchases after the tour.

Have you tried the Barton Creek Farmers' Market?
Barton Creek Farmers Market

They have a Contact Us Tab at the top of their webpage, so you could ask them before you go over.
