Hello Austin,
I am from Los Angeles, California, but I am considering relocate to Austin just outside of Round Rock. I am myself Black as caramel chocolate female, I 've heard in Austin is a great place. I am good black young female, I am about to leave in Southern CA for Austin. Because in California has high cost of living, but there are great diversity of population. I hope in Austin needs to be more diversity people rather than racism. I will find right place for me, is in Round Rock having interaction black and white people in the neighborhood ? I checked the website about in Round Rock is a very very nice place ever I saw wow!!! I am looking to find safe and quiet place.
Please let me know how is doing in Austin and Round Rock ?
I am not sure when I am coming to Texas, I cannot wait to get out of CA.

It's probably best to become color blind wherever you go.

If you see yourself as "Black as caramel chocolate", you are probably
going to see me as "White like Casper the Ghost", and that isn't going
to help the diversity you are looking for.

Don't think many in these parts are that concerned

Austin has very little diversity compared to California. There are some hispanic areas and some smaller black areas. And for whatever reason most of the indians seem to live in Avery Ranch. Other than that, Austin is pretty white bred, and the suburbs are REALLY white bred. I used to live in Round Rock and it's probably the best of the suburbs if you MUST live in the suburbs. It has industry and a wide range of neighborhoods. But again, don't expect much diversity. Oh wait, you realize that once you leave California, it will be EXTREMELY hard to get back in??? Do you REALLY want to do this????

+1

Seriously people, we need to move beyond this. In this forum, in our families, in our communities, schools, states, even nations- it's time to move past the notion that melanin content is an indication of anything other than melanin content.

Alright people listen....... Is diversity really all about skin color? Or uniqueness, individuality, and interesting culture.....??? Can't there be "diversity" in areas that are majority-white populated...? Isn't there "culture" too....? Just putting the question out there, after seeing this question posed sooooooooooooooo many times....

"Diversity" is code for "not white". I think it's borderline racist. I'm not white BTW, but a mixture of almost every race.
