I would love to get some current feedback on Crystal Falls, and Winkley Elementary School specifically. We are considering buying a home that feeds to that school. I would love to know really what it's like living there - are neighbors friendly, lots of activities?, how is the amenity center...etc.

Thanks in advance!

Live here. Love it. Great neighborhood. Have 2 kids in Winkley (one has been in for 2 years, one for 4) - haven't had any issues with the school at all. Teachers and office staff are great.

Know most of my neighbors. Lots of kids. Everyone I know seems pretty happy here...

It's so far from Austin. I'm assuming you like living far away from everything if you choose Crystal Falls. I could never live out there.

Well in the Leander/CP area there are loads of folks and kids and depending on what you are looking for its not that far out. Everyone I know that lives in the area loves it and has no problem where it is located. Once the street is cut though it will get ya pretty close to Jonestown and the Lake. Lots of great places to eat out here. Lots of stuff to do with kids, Jumpstreet being the current fad. Its a great area school is well run.

Looked at houses in Crystal Falls, but decided on Round Rock because of the shopping and IH-35 is easy to get to to go downtown.

To each his/her own. It's not "far away from everything" unless "everything" is downtown Austin.

Since I don't work downtown, we chose this area because we have quick access to the lake, nice views, good schools and I can get to my employer with little to no stress in about 25 mins. I'm close enough to Austin that I can be downtown in about 30 mins non rush. Shopping is less than 10 mins away for everything I'd ever need.

Thanks all... yes, compared to where we live right now Crystall Falls is hustling and bustling! it's very close to where I need to be for kid activities and friends, and husband works from home and travels. So now I just have to decide whether this house is the right one for us... folks were outside having a block party when we looked yesterday, and lots of kids riding bikes, so it looks good so far!

Assuming you drove past the one going on down the street from the school - we were there. Great neighborhood and lots of kids. DM me if you have more specific questions - happy to help .
