Where do you live? THere is a resident in Steiner Ranch who is also a snake enthusiast. He removes them for free, but I think it's only within Steiner and the surrounding area.

Honestly, I don't think I'd call anyone. Unless it were in my house or garage, I'd just steer clear and let it wander off somewhere else. Our neighbors that have killed them did it themselves with a shovel. That seems a little too risky to me.

You can certainly go the shovel or hoe route and chop off the heat but it is almost effective just to stomp your feet (in boots works best) and clap your hands. Dropping a shovel or hoe hard against the ground works too. Snake leaves and rarely comes back.

True. But it will go away without biting you and won't return. And no nasty chopping! The problem is that you absolutely can't have a change of heart half way through. You have to "just do it" when it comes to the chop!
