Most kid halloween stuff is very locally organized. In our neighborhood, one of the 'biscuit brothers' always has a skit of some sort set up in his front yard/driveway/garage. Lots of trick-r-treaters up and down the street and lots of people, if not most, just sit out in lawn chairs on their driveway instead of staying inside.

I think apartments/schools/churches often organize various events, but I can't think of anything city-wide off the top of my head.

Trainwreck, my son LOVES the biscuit brothers...that'd be cool to see : )

To the OP: our neighborhood also is overrun by kids and parents, and groups of friendly teens going door to door for candy. Lots of people decorate extravagantly and some even dress up to scare the kids. We sit on the driveway and some years a few of us have gotten together a potluck in the front yard--if we're lucky, its cold enough for soup or chili!

I think Old Settlers Park did something last year. There is a pumpkin patch at the Episcopal Church on 79 near there. Hutto has a little street deal in the downtown area. It's alright, but My daughter likes Trick or treating house to house better. I think downtown RR also does a street fair.

What about fun stuff to do for adults on Halloween? In the downtown/south Austin area...

Is there anything going on usually?
