It looks like construction of some sort has started taking place on the old house and barn in sunset valley at Brodie and 290. Anyone know what's going on there? Maybe a restaurant in each one or something?

I know they've been for sale a long time, glad something (hopefully positive) is happening.

Event center. Weddings, banquets, etc.

Wonderful! I know the original owners loved that place and really didn't want it torn down (and I love it and would hate to see it torn down for commercial development that looks just like everywhere else). An event center is perfect!

I hope they're done soon and that once it's done that they can compete. Austin has a ton of wedding/event venues. Their location is good for accessibility but for parking and appearances...let's say the appearances could be a challenge to work with at the moment (who knows what they'll do though).

I used to think it would be cool to buy it and convert it to a wedding venue so it's pretty awesome to see that happen.
