I hate the fact that Capital Metro bus driver think they
can tell me what to do. I was abroading bus
2o manor with my step son and the bus driv er
told my boy he should have the money ready
(He already had two dollars folded in his hand)
She said it in a rude way. I was like.
you don't tell my 12year old notting. And
I made a commit that the bus was 15 minutes
Late, the bus driver was like you can wait
for the next one. I think she was just trying. To
rush because she was behind schedule.

And also I hate that they don't even wait
for people sit down before they drive off.
I seen an old man fall he must of been
like 70. A pregnet lady fall to one nee cuz
the bus took off before she sat down.
1. Time I seen a lil boy like 6 0r 7 fall and hit
his head on a metal seat. Big bump on his
for head. And the driver didn't even got
out of his seat to see if the boy was ok.

Last. Thing. Also if a bus driver See's you
running or trying to flag.them down they should
stop n wait for you. Its just good krama
Public transportation should comadate to the
Public. Please. People make the call to their
office and report there wrongs doings.

So you complained that the bus was late but you want them to stop and wait for late arrivals?

Wasn't going to bother to put it there, but exactly what I was thinking.

Having ridden the buses more than a few times, it is more often someone leisurely walking to the bus stop and expecting it to wait. Or, they will be hurrying, but as soon as the bus looks like it is going to wait, they slow down.

taking the bus downtown from south austin recently on a saturday night i thought it was a little frustrating for me and the bus driver. about half a dozen folks waiting at each stop. the first one in line takes the last long drag on his cigarette, tosses it on the ground, realizes "oh i need to pay" and begins to dig in pocket or bag for their pass or a dollar. next person does the same thing, and so do the next 3 or 4 passengers. this wouldn't fly in san fran or new york. i guess we need to educate people in centex on how to properly ride the bus. have your fare ready, be polite, and get on the dang bus. maybe the new "pay with your smart phone" will speed things up. oh, probably not at least in the short run. not a big deal, but if austin is going to try to operate in the big leagues with mass transit they need to work on faster boarding solutions.

Take out "gets crowded". I make it a point to look inside very bus I drive by to see how bad cap metro and the city are screwing us and and it's easily 9 out of 10 have no more than two persons riding in it. No different than the diesel train they pushed through. Empty empty empty. But,, hey they always need more money every year.

You mean the train that is standing-room-only every rush hour?

Umm, yeah, from my one friend that uses the train regularly, it sounds to be pretty crowded.

Came across this Abolish Capital Metro Abolish Capital Metro

I don't know what the progress is with that guy's petition.

But, Capital Metro sucks. They have lead feet. Veolia especially. I have seen YouTube footage of smart alec bus drivers put in their places.

They don't like picking up passengers, and they only want to cater to the wealthy, white, and privileged. The Smartphones are not for selfies, along with scan able Jiffy Lube coupons on the bus proves it.

Gentry Sellout Mike Martinez, an Austin City Council member runs the board. He needs to be impeached and indicted by the Texas Rangers.

Remember to VOTE NO! on Project Connect come November because Austin cannot afford any more trains!

Such as lowering the fare? When you lower the fare, you speed up the buses, and increase ridership.
But Capital Metro believes in less ridership and more federal subsidies.
Seen the Rapid buses? EMPTY, EMPTY, EMPTY. The only people who ride it are the UT Entitlements.

lowering the fare? i say raise the fare a little and make the service a little faster and more user friendly. i know lots of folks are upset about the higher fare to ride metro rapid. the issue i have is that they have significantly reduced service on the route 1. also, there is no connectivity between the 1 and the 801 (at least not on the "plan my trip" on the capmetro site). it seems really stupid to run the #1 all the way from far south austin to far north austin. makes alot more sense to break the route up into several feeder routes that would connect at select 801 stops.
