Default Working at Whole Foods

Anyone have anything positive or negative to say about working at the WF main office? They've posted a job I'm interested in... and I'm sure the pay is far less than what I earn now. Wondering if the culture is worth the pay difference...

We had a good friend who worked for them in Denver and in Seattle. He couldn't wait to leave. He said that they do not practice what they preach in the social and environmental sense. He had previously worked for a non-profit in downtown Seattle and he went back there as soon as he got a chance.

That's too bad. I've read some negative press but overall I still think it's a better company to work than some.

I think working at the corporate HQ probably is different than working at the actual store.

My friend works at the HQ. He said the pay is below average if you are not in specific positions or management. It's very cliquish and you have to watch your back a lot. Even though he can get paid more elsewhere, he gets to wear cargo shorts everyday so he stays. he can't imagine ever dressing up for work after being there 8 years.

Hopefully you applied to that job before posting here a week ago. Employers who list jobs where us normal folks can find them (craig's, yahoo/austin american now, monster, etc.) tend to get resumes/applications by the dozen minutes after the listing goes live.

WF actually had an accounting position I was entertaining but it was filled before I could revise my resume.

Good Luck.
