Those who have cedar decks- how are they holding up over the years? How often do you treat them? How much sun does it get? Has it warped, cracked, bowed, etc?
My previous house had redwood and had to be treated every two or three years. I have had composite for 11 years and it never needs to be treated or stained.

Composite decks rule, they don't splinter. However, they do get hot but just hose them off now and then to cool them off.
