What with the huge park & ride express bus lot at the Lakeline Capital Metro station, Austin hasn't expanded the only 2 lane road that services that transportation "hub" - even though mega apartment complexes are springing up all around it, as well as the large Northwoods SFH development. Rush hour traffic is a clusterbomb at the entry intersection to the facility.

Not to mention it's going to get worse when the new Neenah extension (east of Parmer) connects it all directly to Brushy Creek & the west side of Round Rock. I've seen nothing from the CoA yet that addresses the Lakeline road that leads over to Parmer. Makes me wonder if any City Council member has ever been up that way to know of its existence.

Anyone here know what the CoA traffic infrastructure plans are for that particular area?

I think I read somewhere that they were thinking about building parking garages at some of the park & rides since they can't really build out as much. That would be a good idea.

Also, I think it's good that more apartments are springing up nearby. It will allow people to walk/bike to the station.

Does CoA EVER build roads? I would think it would be TxDOT?

And do the city limits even extend to that area?

I bicycled past the La Quinta to try to figure out that extension...looks like a chicane to narrow the road to a driveway-width single lane, perhaps ONLY for immediate local traffic. I sure thought a cut-through to the train station parking lot would make sense; but they didn't ask me. I'm going to bet the stretch of Lakeline from the train station to Parmer is as good as it will be in my lifetime Don't forget another few dozen homes being built in Northwoods

It's in CoA limits, but it's in Williamson County and it's Williamson that's been extending and widening that road in other sections.

such as
2.49 Lakeline Boulevard Right Turn Lanes

Lakeline Blvd

TxDOT has the highways; but I'm pretty sure Neenah/Lakeline will be CoA projects...actually, the developer of Pearson Place is building the Neenah extension...one reason it's four years behind schedule. Actually, RRISD will get involved with financing some of the other 'improvements' on the east side of Parmer(Neenah, Pearson Ranch Rd extension to 620, etc).
