I'd like to gather a list of ride sharing companies in Austin, that I can link to in the Welcome to Austin Info sticky thread. I have never used ride sharing so I'm asking for your help producing a list with links to the companies if possible.

A co-worker who used to be a frequent Uber/Lyft rider has told me of several he has tried recently, but also indicated that they all were considerably less effective than U/L were. He has stopped using any currently (he just had foot surgery and is using co-workers for rides as the others have been too unreliable).

I have used GetMe (although it's not much cheaper than a taxi, unless you use a promo code), Fasten (I liked using it), and Fare, although I haven't used it yet. There's also Arcade City, in which you setup rides using FB and agree to prices in advance. I don't plan on using them since they may be a good way to go, but I had enough of "handshake agreements" when I lived in SE Asia and China, in which you'd have to trust that they wouldn't change the price at the last minute, or feign getting lost just to drive up the fare. Again, what I've heard about A.C. is secondhand talk, so I haven't had first-hand experience with them. Long story short, I've used Fasten and overall like them. GetMe can be quite slow at times in terms of getting a driver to agree to pick you up, or at least was in my past experiences.
