I've been in Austin for awhile and I don't remember it getting to the 100s until at least August. What's with the extreme heat so early already?

How long is 'awhile'? Sure, it doesn't happen every year, but there are bouts where it gets up this hot in June quite a bit. And at least we are not in the 103 and 104 every day yet....

Heck, the average high for this June is well below several others over the last decade.

Shoot, I was just happy that June was so cool! And May was like Seattle or something! It is plenty hot now, no question but it isn't unexpected or rare. July is always hot. And then August . . .

"awhile" obviously is less than since 2011.

Today was hotter than usual...it was a record high...but nothing that cannot happen. It was just a degree hotter I believe than the previous record.

Pffff. You could live in Phoenix - 115, and it's monsoon season to boot.

I find Austin quite refreshing after living most of my life in the Devil's own backyard.
