My husband & I moved here not knowing anyone. We'd previously lived in a town for 4 years without making a single close friend. We couldn't seem to meet anyone we had anything in common with (our our own age, even).

After being here 1.5 years, I finally joined my first meetup group. It's one for midwest transplants like me, so we'll see how it goes! I kept seeing meetup mentioned so much on here, I have to try.

I get the impression it's a mix of single and committed folks in their 20's and 30's. I guess we won't know until we go, right?
