Same old, same old...... good schools, safe, nice neighborhood, close to shopping, yada, yada. You know, the question that's beat into the ground. I'm just not sure where exactly in Austin Las cimas is (even when I'm looking at the map) to know what areas are around there.

Thanks!

Las Cimas is roughly at 2244 and 360. What is your price range for a home? Do you want an older more established neighborhood or new construction? The neighborhoods close to Las Cimas include Lost Creek, Parkstone, Woods of Westlake, Rob Roy, etc. These all feed into Eanes ISD. You can also look into Senna Hills and Lake Austin Estates and even Lakepoint. Senna Hills and Lake Austin Estates are zoned to Eanes and Lakepoint is zoned to Lake Travis ISD. Both districts are very good.

thanks for a quick reply!

I'd think we'd want to keep it under $500k. Is that possible in that area? I understand Eanes is the best district around - correct?

Oh, and as far as the house, I don't have an enormous preference, though I've always lived in a new house. I do like big since i have a big family (4 kiddos).

You can definitely find something under $500,000 but not sure if it would be big enough or new enough for you. The neighborhoods I mentioned would be in the 78746 and 78733 zip codes. Just do a search of those two zip codes and see what shows up. There are other neighborhoods in those zips including Bee Cave Woods and Rolling Hills and even Rollingwood which is actually an incorporated town. However, houses in those areas would probably bust your budget or just be way too small.

Although these are a little further, I wouldn't rule out Circle C, Travis Country, Covered Bridge and even Western Oaks. Those all feed into AISD though and I don't know much about the schools because we are in Eanes and I never really researched AISD schools. Good Luck.

One more neighborhood I forgot to mention is Barton Creek West. I believe it is in 78733 and it does feed into Eanes. That commute to Las Cimas PKWY would not be far but could take some time because of traffic on 2244.

My husband just sold a house in Senna Hills for under $500K - a substantially sized house (I think larger than 3500 sf). So you can find still find some large homes in that price range in Eanes.......

What/where is Senna Hills? I've read a couple of other posts that it's nice, but what makes it so? Please PM me if I can pick your brain, Gigi or AustinAggie.
