I think the question is just too basic for us highfalutin Austin types. It’s like asking which seafood restaurant in town serves the best hush puppies.

I agree. However, it's a serious question. My great uncle loves Asian buffets. He's turning 90, and we will be picking him up from the nursing home and taking him out to celebrate his birthday. He told us he wants to go to an Asian buffet, so I'm asking for suggestions for one in Austin.

what's so gross about it? buffet-style restaurants are good every now and then and it's nice to have many choices.

Fujian's grand china buffet is one that comes to mind. right off 35.

Back in my college days, I used to go to Buffet Palace, but the two locations I patronized closed down years ago. I think there's a south location near the Westgate Central Market.

Asia is a pretty big continent:
all-you-can-eat korean bbq: Charm korean bbq
all-you-can-eat hot pot: Little sheep mongolian hot pot
all-you-can-eat sushi: Sushi junai
all-you-can-eat sushi: Sushi bang bang
Indian - star of india, bombay bistro madras pavilion
vietnamese - 888 vietnamese restaurant.

Went to Buffet Palace (Westgate area, not sure if there are others) a few weeks ago and it was great. They seemed to specialize in Korean food, if that matters, but had a little bit of everything.
