I need some suggestions on a drivable trip for the weekend. We're looking to leave early Saturday morning and get back Sunday evening. I'm not a wine drinker so probably not Fredricksburg. I was initially thinking San Antonio or Corpus Christi. We're open to walks/hikes, or other types of entertainment. A fun dinner would be nice too. TIA on any suggestions.

San Antonio sounds like it would work. Plenty of easy hikes and trails to explore with no shortage of fun food spots. I did a quick trip to Confort, just northwest of SA for New Years and that was fun. Boerne may also be a fit. New Braunfels if you like the river.

A day trip to Inks Lake with a stop at the Blue Bonnet Cafe, or possible Enchanter Rock (reserve a spot) and then dinner at Coopers?

Houston is a good place to go for a weekend. They have a nice zoo and several museums. The NASA Space Center is there. The Boardwalk in Kemah is nearby south of Houston. Lots of carnival rides and games and lots of restaraunts. Buffalo Bayou Park has nice hiking trails. There's all kinds of things to do in Houston. I wouldn't mind going over to Houston next Weds or Thurs myself, now that I think about it.

San Antone.

The last time I visited Corpus it made me sad. Lots of shuttered businesses and bums all over the boardwalk.
