Updating name on driver's license - new photo required? (Georgetown: office, health)

Hi folks, fairly random question.

When getting your name updated on your driver's license (for a valid reason, e.g., after a marriage-related last name change), do you take a new photo? Or do they just re-use your previous one?

Straight from DPS:

"
Name Change

If you want to change your name, you must:

1. Visit any driver license office within 30 days of the change; and
2. Provide one of the documents listed below that verifies your name change. The document must be an original, as copies are not accepted. If the document is not in English, a certified English translation must also be submitted with the original document.
3. Locate the office nearest you.

Marriage-Related Name Change
If your name change is marriage related, bring one of the following documents:

1. Marriage license
2. Divorce decree
3. Annulment
4. Department of State Health Services marriage verification "
   
   
   IF Georgetown is convenient to you, try their office. Everyone there was pleasant and helpful when I renewed this spring(AFTER the Covid "allowance" had passed).
   
   
   To actually answer your question, I don't know....BUT, since you're there in person, I would think a new photo would be in order.

Thanks - yeah we were able to find plenty of info about what documentation was required, but had no info about whether a new picture would be required.

For any future readers - yes, you are required to take a new photo. We went today and verified.

Since it had been twelve years AND my original pic was so scary, I welcomed the opportunity to pose for a new shot...UNTIL I saw it!!! Looks like a wanted poster for sure!!!
