Serious question. Just for a year or so. It's in the city limits, and it's about 641 acres.

Would you be asking this if McKinney Falls happened to be in northwest Austin instead of southeast Austin? Could pace bend be a homeless camp site too? I believe that’s in the Austin metro.

I was trying to get the city council to get the drive austin property as a homeless camp. I guess oracle bought it and is now wanting to trade the city for it (prop B).

It was 11 million and could have sheltered a huge portion of the homeless.

It's just temporary, until we get free, permanent, taxpayer funded housing for everybody in Austin who wants it.

It's a modest proposal, and it's implementation could be very swift.

The Driveway is a great place for cyclists and from those that I know that go to the Driveway weekly, they are looking forward to the land swap to improve the area. There would be a big fight by the eastside to have that park like area turned into an encampment.
Maybe Oracle can let the city lease back their little plot and create a new encampment right by the trail. It wouldn't take much to have the few guys living along Lakeshore and Pleasant Valley to move there things across the street. Or would that be too much for the tourists? (I say with sarcasm as I run by the guy who practically has a mansion on tarps and goodies near the kayaking spot closest to Pleasant Valley).

Are we in California or Texas? Whatever happened in Austin resulted in a cruel statewide law.

Austin City Council (and perhaps California and other places with this plague) should probably study Houston's approach on homeless reduction.

Don't be dense. No way would TPWD or the general public allow a state park to turn into a homeless camp. It was meant to be thought provoking satire.

I dropped clues, but surprisingly you didn't pick up on it:
