Bid $400k+ for Taylor Morrison 70s in Travisso and lost.

Any thoughts? Are people paying $500k for a 9000-sqft lot? WTF?

My thoughts: It's idiotic. You're paying for a scarcity that doesn't really exist, or views of the rugged landscape that won't exist 10 years from now.

Drive 3 minutes further into Jonestown and buy a lot for less than 100K, then hire Drees or Weekly to build-on-your-lot.

For once I agree.

They're still having that bidding crap? For what?

In all likelihood you're going to be on a postage stamp sized interior lot with the spectacular view of neighbors.

Maybe you'll get one tree.

Wow. STILL bidding like crazy, I see. We put ourselves on the waiting list with Toll Brothers in March of last year, and we never heard back. I guess we're still on the list? LOL Never mind. We changed our minds.

It's ridiculous, and they've all, including buyers, lost their minds.

Just wait for companies to call people back. All of them buying in Travisso, north Leander and Georgetown are going to regret like crazy. Already tech companies like Google, Apple has set RTO dates. Its going to be one hell of a parking lot on 183, Parmer, I 35 etc...

The reduced traffic was nice while it lasted. Like you stated Parmer is about to become horrible. I can see it backing up past Whitestone into Ronald Regan due to all the new homes and businesses that have sprung up. I do wonder what percentage of companies are going to require employees to return to the office.

Interestingly, I toured Treviso back in 2017/2018, back when you didn't have to bid on lots. My wife didn't want any part of that development. Stated it was too far out with nothing around. Having witnessed the horrible traffic at Steiner ranch, I had my hesitations about a large development in the Hills with access/egress to one thoroughfare as well. We always been "live closer in and next to amenities type of people." It does have gorgeous views, so I certainly see the appeal. I can't help but feel the developer is intentionally driving up the price by only releasing a certain amount of lots at once, but hey that’s business. Why not if people are willing to pay.

You are crazy to pay that for a lot.. I just signed a contract for 10 acres of land for 21k a acre with Hill country views...

I wrote the owner a letter to buy 4 so I could get my AG exempt... he contacted and said he wanted all 10 gone.

I was more than happy to take all 10.
