Commercial businesses are sprouting up around the Teravista-University Blvd/I-35 area like crazy.

So far, we have Ikea, Walgreens, CVS, TGI Fridays, Steak And Shake, Wachovia, Chase, JC Penney. Coming soon is a Burger King, Gas Station and Convience store, a few medical office buildings, REI Outdoors, Officemax, Petsmart, Ross, a small retail plaza etc.

Yet, still no signs of an HEB or Super Target. You'd think that these companies would be wanting to get a foothold on the Teravista community.

So, does anyone know if a supermarket or discount chain is in the works, and if not, what's the closest supermarket to Teravista?

You're asking the same ones I'd ask about Hutto. Tons of stuff coming in here, and yet, no grocery store. Hold that thought, I know who to ask....

O.K, put a question in to my moms group so I'll keep an eye out. My first guess would be the one on 79 in RR, or the one in Georgetown, up the freeway from you a little bit.

There is a HEB on 1431 probably about 5 min. from Terravista and a few more miles down is a super target.

There will be a Spec's this summer. Not groceries but some gourmet food stuff. Maybe the new Sunflower Market that is coming to town will put one in that area.

I just find it suprising with all the retail, not one supermarket or hybrid discount/supermarket chain is in on the action.....I guess maybe they're waiting for a population that would be able to support a supermarket?

(I know about the other HEB's, but it would still be nice to have one for the Teravista community. But hey, at least a much needed gas station is finally being built!)

Anyone have any inside knowledge about anything in the works? All I've been hearing is HEB's coming, yet no one knows when or where....

A mom in our mom's group has been emailing the bejeezus out of all sorts of companies. She put in one to Whole Foods who emailed her back and said they'd been doing traffic studies in the area. That's all I know.
