can anyone direct me to where there are good deer and hunting land leases near the Austin Area? I have a little land in Lake Granbury but am moving to Austin and would like to find places closer.

Good Deer Leases will be west of Austin. Driftwood, Dripping Springs, Brady, Llano, anywhere in the hill country basically. Most leases run 2-6 grand per rifle on anywhere from 200-several thousand acres and prices depend on what hunts are available and amenities. Bird hunting is best east of 35 and real good in Creedmoor or South 183. Turkey west of Austin in the hill country or South all the way to Luling and further south. Hogs are all over the place and varmints too.

I was trying to think of where my BIL hunts and luckily ATX Homeboy answered it for me...It's Brady, and he always comes back with a deer or two and often a boar. He has a friend who has property out there and they hunt on it.

There is some great places to find hunting land. You can look in classified ads as well as websites like
www.huntinglocator.com i believe there are some other places as well. You can google deer hunting leases and find some. I found my hunting lease by doing this.
