Let's see...last summer--moved two cars from Atlanta=2000 miles...trip back through the Carolinas, round trip=3700 miles...all at about $3.50/gal+ This year, one trip back to the mountains=2800 miles @ $2.50/gal...

Heck, we might be able to pay our water and A/C bills after all!!! Now, if we just didn't need a new roof!

This is what the article says: For the month of July so far, gas prices are the lowest they’ve been since 2005, according to AAA.

It's kind of odd phrasing, but they are attempting to say that gas prices are the cheapest for any JULY during the past five years. As anyone who has purchased gas during the last year knows, gas prices got a lot cheaper over the past winter during the financial crisis. I purchased gas in the 1.30s and it was not a loss leader.

During the winter I was buying gas anywhere from $1.25 - $1.50 for regular. It is only in the last 3 months that the prices went back up over $2.00.

Per Statesman blog......

statesman.com | Austin gas prices drop 22 cents in a month | Statesman Business Blog

You never know!....

I like the fact that diesel is right there with reg gas, in price, unlike what is seen in the picture.

On the way to San Antonio yesterday, I say Diesel for $2.29 and reg for $2.35 Then down the interstate Diesel was $2.49 and reg gas was $2.34

In my neighborhood diesel is .2¢ more than reg gas.

They get me either way, because my diesel gets way better fuel mileage, than its gas counterpart.

I am starting to suspect, inthecut, that you don't actually live here right now. Because if you did, you would have known that this last winter gas was well under $2.00. It wasn't until May that it bypassed the $2 level again. Is this some internet experiment that you've undertaken, to demonstrate that because of the internet, you can find out enough information to actually appear as if you are in a particular place?

Back around '98 or so, you could get gas about that cheap at the 7-11 off Riverside Dr
