Hi everyone,

Does anybody here knows how long it takes to get a job with Austin Energy? I applied to this one position within the City job posting site. The status of the job is now closed. It has been for about a week, and I am urgent to know if I'm selected for an interview or not. The wait is killing me. No updates from them yet.

Just wondering and hope I can get some advices of what to do out of this great forum.

I would spread your job search around as much as possible..sounds like you might be hanging on this particular one too much....seeing as it may not be panning out, you might want to actively get out to as many places as possible, while periodically checking out the Energy job....

Good city jobs usually go to connected people from what I've heard.

It has been a week only so I did not call. I just sent an email yesterday only. No reply from them yet for today. But I will call to follow up after couple more days though. Thanks for the input.

I'm waiting to hear about a city job too....it is kinda depressing. I have a great job right now and I am considering a paycut if they were to hire me.

I'm a military contractor...my current assignment is going away and I don't know what my next one will be (or where). I would like a little more predictability, to settle down more, and also because it is in my field of interest and I'd be able to use more of my skills and abilities than I do now.
