In this particular case, I believe the thread title conveys a bit of smugness and in particular, the last 4 words of the title may reasonably be expected to invite the participation of residents from at least one other city.

True, in absolute terms SA gained the most people in 2008-09. But its rate of growth lagged Fort Worth's and Austin's, which might have been Austinite101's point. Usually "fastest growing" means a rate of change rather than absolute change, though I agree that the point could be made either way.
