What's with Newflower and several Sprouts all coming to Austin this year? Not that I'm complaining or anything...

they are nice changes from the standard HEB choices.

I don't think the crowds will be as bad as the Brodie or RR stores... Rollingwood/Westlake is just not a big box shopping destination, so it will be mostly neighborhood crowds, I hope.

Looking forward to an alternative to the Randalls and HEB at Westlake Village... I used to love HEB, but they've really tested my loyalty with the Westlake store. Prices have gone up while service has gone WAY down at that store since opening... and it really has nothing beyond what a regular HEB has, just at Central Market prices.

Other than the stellar wine deals, I've been having a hard time figuring out what makes Sprouts better than Central Market. Sprouts probably wins on the regular meat and produce prices compared to HEB's deals. BUT the organic section was strangely small for a store with Whole Foods-esque offerings. In regards to nonperishable items, they didn't seem competitive at all.

Yeah, Sun Harvest still wins on meat & produce pricing. Sprouts is like a little Whole Foods, with more locations and easier access. Central Market is the last place I would go because of the stupid IKEA-like layout.

Rollingwood location of Sprouts was much more laid back than the Brodie one, just as I suspected. I went yesterday afternoon and they still were giving away free reusable cloth grocery bags... supposedly reserved for the first 2000 visitors... I was also able to park about 25 feet from the entrance.

I think the produce is cheaper and better quality than HEB. All the tomatoes I've gotten there for example are actually ripe rather than 99% of the ones I see at HEB.
