Vaccine: ARC in Hutto doesn't have it, don't know when they'll get it. Walgreens in Hutto doesn't have it, don't know when they'll get it.

What's the real deal with this vaccine anyways? Do you think it's important to get it? Did you get it?

Waddaya think?

Had h1n1 3 weeks ago, still battling a secondary infection from the flu that seems resistant to antibiotics. As a matter of fact, going in today to discuss my options for other treatments.

The h1n1 itself, my symptoms were mild until I got all the respitory junk. It was very hard to breathe. Was on pills and a liquid I had to take every 4 hours.

health care providers in austin (er personel etc) have not even had access to the vaccine as of yet. most folk who are healthy and have complications generally have a secondary pneumonia. i would suggest that anyone with fears might wanna get the pneumovix (this vaccine is good for 5 years).

I had the flu a week ago. I don't know if it was H1N1 or not because my doctor just advised me to stay home when I called. My symptoms were milder than previous bouts.

I likewise had the flu a couple of weeks ago. A couple days of feeling pretty bad with fever, and a week plus of just feeling really tired.

Don't know which kind it was, though. Just stayed home and rested.

They are saying if you have the flu it is H1N1 - no other flu is active right now BUT several virus act like the flu so even if you think you have had H1N1 you should get the immunization when it is available. Likewise you should get the seasonal flu shot because it may come around at any time. Pneumovax is a good idea H1N1 seems to make you more vulnerable to pnuemonia.
I am working part time at a hospital in Calif. right now and we just got the H1N1 flu vaccine for healthcare workers on Monday. I'm not able to find it here at the drugstores etc. for my family either.
PS Man I miss being home in Texas!

No vaccine yet. Can't you wait until the Feds take over all of the Health Care system?

ARC South (and I assume other locations) have the nasal mist vaccine, but it is available to only a limited group of people (but that does include kids from 2-5, I think, as long as there is no one pregnant at home ).
