Hello...

My wife has gotten her hair straightened in the past-- a special process that takes about 3-4 hours, but results in straightened hair for 6+ months... so far in Austin she's only found salons that do this process for around $300 or more. Is anyone aware of a less expensive place or individual that does this affordably?

I've been wanting to get my hair straightened. Does it really work? What does she have to do to it to get ready in the am?

she does nothing - washes it and goes... it's well worth the 15 minutes of time savings a day to her

I don't have personal experience with this place, but couple of my neighbors had their hair straightened at "hair it is" on balcones woods dr. I do not know how much they charge though.

The lady whom does my families hair, gave me a tip, my daughter wants to straighten her hair and its very thick and very curly, she said hun instead of me charging you a rediculious amount go buy a perm put it in her hair, wet of course, comb and comb for about 15 minutes, then rinse. Just something to think about, all they use is a perm without the rods. Best of luck.

Mt. Snow - are you talking about a perm that someone would use for curly hair vs. a relaxer? Just curious because I'll run to Walgreens right now

Check out Grapevine Salons off 620 & Lake Creeek by Lakeline Mall - Shelly, Ashley, Valerie and Melissa all do the new Global Keratin Straightener for somewhere around that price.... each stylist varies to some degree on their rates. It's the newest kind of straightener, very good for your hair, the process takes appx 2 hours.
