I'm thinking about buying a home in Crestivew. I'm wondering if anyone on here lives there and could tell me if they think the Crestview Station development is going to be positive or negative for the neighborhood.

It seems like the housing part of the development is going to bring a lot of people into the area. I'm hoping I haven't missed the days when Crestview was a sleepy little neighborhood.

Thanks for any comments or advice! :-)

I live in Crestview. I don't think it will have much effect at all. It is on the far east side of Crestview and most of those folks will be using Lamar or the train for their commute. I have lived here for ten years and love it. If you know the roads around here you can get where ever you want to go in less then 15 mins to anywhere north of the river, any time of day. You can still get a house with a real big lot here for a reasonable amount. Now if you lived within a block of it. It might be a whole other thing.

It seems to not have parking. Am I right about that?

There sure does not seem to be much parking. I need to go over and check it out again because it has been a few months now when I was at the station part last. To me it is like it is not even part of crest view. With the way the tracks are set up. It is like it's own thing. More than part of Crestview.

Thanks for the comments. TexasHighDef, are you saying some streets in Crestview that are close to it might not be so good? I'm pretty sure parts of Grover might not be great. I read they may build multi-story housing units in Crestview Station.

Midtown Commons has plenty of parking, it's in the garages. It will have more types of housing as it builds out, including single-family houses, townhouses, etc. It has no streets connecting to the neighborhood because the neighborhood didn't want them to connect. Their website is midtowncommons.com

They have built rental housing close to the station as Phase 1, and the BlackStar BrewPub Coop is moving into the building on Lamar.
