I'd love to do something similar in the states. There used to be opportunities for us in the rail industry to do an exchange type program, but I think that has died since we (NSW Freight) were privatised in 2002 and with the US economic conditions I doubt there would be an opportunity any time soon.

I am in the medical profession and I work as a blood transfusion specialist.
You should look into it even though the US is not doing well...some areas are and will always do well...your area might be one of those.
