There are even some words that aren't immediately recognisably Australian such as "Seachange" there was even a popular TV show called seachange, and "Trifecta" which comes from the horse racing industry in Melbourne it means betting on three different horses and having them all win.
Ireland's not a place I would think such a word was used commonly
Yep the notion of the weather going over 20˚C is not common in Ireland anymore... but in the 1980's when the summers were warmer there, the term 'Jaysus it's a scorcher!' was/is commonplace.
