I've witnessed this thing a few times, in all cases I believe drugs and alcohol were involved, so a lot of it was just people venting aggression or being intimidating. I'd be surprised if anyone who has lived here their whole lives has never experienced or witnessed racism. It's minority, to be sure, but it can be more common than you think.
You know I have spent my entire life living in the US and I had this impression that so many other countries (Especially Australia--right behind Europe) were so socially evolved and were free of this kind of racial separation and hatred. It really just dawned on me that I am so much more better of right where I am now.
Try being a Paki or a Romani in countries like France or England.
Countries like USA, Australia and Canada are full of immigrants, things like what happend on that bus do happen but is sure is not the norm. There's this place in Saint Paul that has Asian Resturants next to African Halal meat markets next to Mexican resturants and everyone gets along.

Aren't people sick for of threads that try to portray Australians as racist?
I know I am
I am. One thing I will defend Australia about is it LACK of racism. The worst racism I encountered was the blacks in the States - white = evil for them. Hong Kong was pretty bad too, but it was not violent there.

Apparently the guy who shot the video was "a bit dark" his words not mine, and had some things said to him when people saw him filming.
Sounds like a storm in a teacup.
