Looks like the market for black tea (not green or herbal tea) is contracting pretty significantly.

The herbal and green tea market seems to be holding up though: https://australianteamasters.com.au/...he-tea-sector/

When I saw how much tea people dink in places like the UK and Ireland, I realised that Aussies overall are far more coffee focussed.

Yes the coffee and café culture is much bigger in Australia.
Not that many drink tea, seems to be an older person and generation thing.

I have a coffee in the morning, but too much caffeine gives me horrible anxiety. So after that coffee it's tea for me. I usually mix it up a bit but yes, I do drink black tea. It definitely seems to be a shrinking market, even just judging by the shelf space at supermarkets.

Apparently Tea is more popular than Coffee in Australia but it's surprising because so many Aussie drink coffee especially here in Melbourne.

Yep, I start the day with a coffee, but usually drink black tea 2-3 times during the rest of the day.

Never drink coffee ( although I don't mind the smell of it ). Always been a black tea drinker... picked up the habit from my grandmother.

I am a coffee person, really I only drink tea when the occasion calls for it. I will usually have a black with my English born sister in law when she offers me one, or green when having yum cha etc.

Isn't it white tea they usually serve at yum-cha?
