In keeping with the numerous vehicle threads I might as well throw this one into the mix.
Anyway my 1986 Porsche might be on its' last leg but considering that it's over 20 years old and has over 150,000 miles I don't think it's done too bad. I might browse around and see what's available in the sports car market. I wouldn't mind having a new Porsche 911 but at a base price of over $70,000 I don't think it'll be in my garage anytime in the near future. I also wouldn't mind having a used one but 1999-2004 911 body styles are not my cup of tea and even a used 2005 model will set me back $60,000 or more.
I'd like something a bit newer, a bit more "loaded", and something that has some serious power. I've looked at a couple 'Vette's but even a used 2005 isn't that cheap and the 1997-2004 C5's are fairly basic in the interior.
I won't be buying anything in the near future but I always have a fun time browsing around. So what do you guys think? Any suggestions?
heck with cars....gitcha one of those Dodge CTD rigs. With some simple bolt ons and a tuner the 1/4 mile will rip through your windshield in the low 13s easy and I have some buddies with a bit more running in the 12s...with a 4X4!! Before anybody tries to wave the BS flag I have the links to vids so...yawn ...anybody that is into diesel pickups knows what I'm talking about. Down side is they don't handle as well as these sports cars but they can tow your house and drive into places those skateboards can't
In my opinion, the Subaru Legacy GT is the best true sports car in the market for less than 30K. This car is underated, but I can assure you that if you test drive this vehicle you will buy it. That is what the Salesman told us, and we brought. Esquire Magazine made it a top 10 must have performance Sedan.
If you want something smaller with even more punch, get behind the wheel of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The car has supercar performance.

Ehh that's not really what I'm looking for. I would like something with a bit of flash and a "wow" factor. Subaru just doesn't really hit that mark...
I would love a 2008 C6. 435hp and interior has been redone. I know it's expensive, but it's an amazing car. I think that another good sports car for the money is the 350Z. Too bad that I can't afford either. For now, I'm probably going to buy an old 280ZX just to have something to mess around with.
Have you considered a BMW roadster? You will get the horses, torque, extra goodies. I am not sure I agree with you on the 911's between 1999 - 2004 - there will always be a special place in my heart for 911's but, I am at a point in my life where I need luggage room, place for the dog, etc. But as a fun car - I am with you on this.
Have you checked out the Porsche Cayman Compact ? If you are a 911 purist it might not be that appealing but it's worth a look. Have fun!
Hubby wants a 2004 911 Twin Turbo in Black. Hmmmm, guess I need to internet shop. Where we will park it I have no clue.
How about a BMW M series? We've said we are waiting two years for the current new one to be 2 years old to find a good used one.
BMW 6 series in a convertible.
Ferrari 599 Ferrari North America - Ferrari North America
When you take that job in Dallas and sell the place in Arizona you can buy a nice little abode here for 1/2 the price and then put the rest into a 599
I like the newer 911 body styles. Are you sure the 86 is totally shot?
ill stick with my 90 ford t-bird lx & 1973 ford pinto.the pinto i have had for many years & i dont need to ever smog it in ca ( 1973 & older are exempt from smog ) & its great on gas plus its paid for !

The BMW Coupe is one that I'm going to take a really good look at. It's fun, fairly inexpensive, and has all the goodies I look for in a vehicle.

M Series are nice (LOVE the M5) but they are def. pricey. I'm looking to spend about $35K and even a used M3 will set me back quite a bit. Besides for the price of a used 2002-2003 M3 I could get one of the newer bodystyle BMW Coupes (preowned of course).
The 6 Series seems like a chick car to me. You'd look good in one though Momof2DFW.
When I do finally move to Dallas I definetly have plans to buy some type of supercar. Might not be a 599 but A Z06 or used F360 will do.
My poor '86 is sitting in the shop and it won't turn over. They're thinking that it might need a new engine and there is just no way I can or will put a new engine in a car that old no matter how much I love it.
It might be a while before I get a car though, I just bought my Yukon and that took quite a bit of my spare change.
One other car I mght look at is the new Infiniti G37 when it comes out. I've seen the previews and this car might actually be a Bimmer beater. So my list of cars to look at:
Infiniti G37
2006-2007 BMW 3 Series Coupe/ Convertible
2005-2006 Corvette Coupe/Convertible
Possibly 2005-2006 Porsche Boxster
But I'm just going to browse at this point, I need to wait for a couple months until I have some spare change to play around with.
