Wow... you prefer plastic over wood? I guess it takes all kinds!

It's not just old people who like wood. And it's no coincidence that in general the higher-priced cars are more likely to have wood trim (in place of plastic).

I will definitely take "dreadful" (more accurate: rich-looking and elegant) wood trim than cheap plastic trim...

Corvettes never had great interiors, but looks and performance covered the difference.

Yeah, I really don't like wood in a car, I think it looks out of date, tacky and generally very unpleasant and out of place.

Some leather (on occasion), aluminum or in some cases different types of fibers (Carbon, Carbotanium, kevlar, etc.).

The only times I've liked wood in a car, has been when it's been painted with 18+ layers of piano lacquer (Urushi paint) for that extremely deep gloss, but you can treat cheaper materials than wood in this fashion and still get the same and just as durable of a result.

Well, there are probably many people who think like you (a lot people today don't have good taste).

I find the reverse to be true... I think plastic looks out of date, tacky and generally unpleasant and out of place. Tacky describes plastic very well! It's cheap and looks it. Auto manufacturers use it because if cuts down costs and weighs less than better materials (like wood and metal).

I have a feeling if the BMW in the photo shown earlier has lots of real wood trim, you would be praising that fact!

I've got an 07 530i with tastefully applied wood trim. Key word is tastefully. Too many older cars stuck wood on everything and the whole deal looked tacky.

The first character description put aside, I take offense to the second one, as you're calling me a liar.

I don't like wood trim, deal with it. I've never specced or considered buying a BMW with wood trim, an dif I had I'd either re-finish it (like my friend did with his wood trimmed BMW), or sell it and purchase a more pleasant alternative (Such as the aluminum cube trim).

The point being that for about the same money....my Z06 rapes an M3 in every category but interior. It just depends on what people value....obviously there is no right or wrong answer. Clearly, an F150 would out haul any of our stuff.

They used to stick fake wood everyone. Real wood was usually used more discreetly (and tastefully).

No indications in my post where I hinted about lying. Hypocrisy, maybe, but not lying.

Since you always seem to insist on having the last word, go right ahead and have it.

I wondered how long it would take Fleet to find an excuse to bombard us with pictures of his barge yet again.
