These are reliable cars they don't bring in revenue for mechanics. Notice no domestics in there.

Aren't the Ford Fusion and Ford Fusion hybrid considered domestics?

Thats what I was thinking! And I was sure the list would have been mostly German cars, LOL. I agree with the Civic and the Accord, can't agree with the earlier Foresters when the 2.5 had the nagging headgasket issue. The Altima I can agree with, at least for the '93-'01 models (besides the intake manifold gasket issue, the KA24DE engine has a lot of life). If we are allowed to include older cars, the '92-96 Camry specifically was probably the most reliable of that model, if you wanted to throw some American cars in I would say Geo Metro and maybe Buick LaSabre.

Even though they are made in Mexico, yes they are.

The list was written by "Click&Clack". If you've never heard of them, they're 2 mechanic brothers that do a radio show and write a weekly column addressing people's car problems, in a tongue in cheek manner.

Top 10 cars mechanics hate are mixed about 1/2 SAE and 1/2 metric fasteners. You have to keep running back and forth to your toolbox because what you have in your tray/hand won't fit. Forget about getting parts at your local discount auto parts store. Even if they could get the stuff every thing must be ordered and nothing is in stock. These cars have mostly dealer only parts and you are reamed royally when you go to the dealer to buy them. That is if you don't need a specialty tool that costs a arm and a leg if and only if it is available for sale to the general public. Even if you can buy the parts and have the tools every thing was designed by a group of engineers with book smarts and no common sense or a clue of hands on problems working on their jacked up designs. Just pull the engine to change spark plugs, water pumps, alternators, starters etc... etc... Are you guys serious? That is retarded and why would you design something like that? The list goes on and on. You don't need to be a genius to know what kind of vehicles are like this. Without insulting anyone on their ride, I will say that the real mechanics already know the answers to these questions and stay away from these vehicles. I know I do and so does everyone else I know. If you wanna fix it yourself don't buy "X"!
