I was given a free case of marine stabilizer. Is there a difference between "regular" and "marine"? Can you use gas treated with "marine" stabilizer in a car?

Depends. Is it designed for Diesel or gas. If it's the gas formula then yes. I'm not sure what brand you have but i've been using marine Sta-bil for years. Does a great job and it helps clean the crap out of the fuel system .

stalbil marine is for ethanol gas and has twice the corrosive inhibitor and 4 times the cleaner then regular stalbil. Yes you can use it in your car.

It's good to know that I can use the marine stabilizer for my car, since I have so much of it.

Agreed, it's good stuff, although you don't particularly need fuel stabilizer unless you are storing the car for several weeks or months. If you are buying a "top tier" gasoline of the correct octane for your car, you should not have to add anything to it, if you want additional detergent action (do you need it?) you could add some Redline SI-1, BG-44, or Techron per bottle label directions.

If this is Marine Sta-Bil in sealed factory bottles, you could sell it to someone who has a boat that they store in the off-season, who actually needs it. Or someone with a motorcycle, snowmobile, or other vehicle that has an "off" season.

It is not for a fuel additive for other than longer term storage. Marine quality is top shelf stuff. I don't know anymore as things change faster than I do, but Marine grade gas was 0% ethenol. Ethenol attracts water from thin air, and screws with boat fuels.

So any engine you have that you don't use much would like it. Bikes in winter, chain saws if not used much lawn mowers, tillers and more.
