1981 for me, not a great year for cars.
I guess I would take a 1981 Chevrolet Z28. I love that medium blue with the silver interior.

I turned 18 in 1971. The 70s was just about the worst decade for cars. There is only one car from 1971 that I would want, and that is a Volkswagen Squareback. I had a 1972 Squareback, and it was a very reliable, economical, and handy car to own. Nothing else from 1971 piques my interest at all.

1971 saw the debut of the Vega and Pinto! The Vega got car of the year! That in itself shows what a bad car year 1971 was!

My second car was a '71 Torino GT w/429. Fun, fast car.

'71 also saw the last of the great Miuras, the SV:

Because the Countach was intorduced to the world that year.

Of course, '71 also had a brace of other nice Euro cars, like the 911S or the Mercedes SL to choose from. I'd also love a '71 2002 Ti:

or possibly my favorite BMW, the 3.0 CS:

'71 a bad car year? I don't think so.

Give me back my 71 Olds Cutless. That is what I was driving when I was 18 and would love to be driving it now.

At the same time back then Magnum P.I. was a big hit then and that is when I fell in love with Ferrari's. Would love to have that same car from the show or one like it. Interesting thing is now that car is affordable at around $25 to $30K. Then again lots of newer cars can keep up but still you got to admit that an old Ferrari is still way cool to have.

Tough call for me, since I turned 18 in '80, which was largely the bottom of the barrel for performance cars. I guess it would be either a Trans Am (and drop in a real motor) or a 4x4 Blazer.
