And I bet those "sophisticated" urbanites limited themselves to either 3ers, C-classes, and A4's?
Oh yeah, there's a bunch of those cruising the roads. A lot of 50K millionaires in this town. But there's lots of serious money here too so you'll see the full range of luxury cars from a TSX to a starter 3-series on up to Bentleys and Rollers and the occasional Maybach.

Any chances you're by the Gold Coast? I went there on business and I couldn't believe that kinds of cars I saw. I didn't know that kind of money lived in Chicagoland.
I see the typical Lexus, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, Acura, some Porsche, Caddy, Lincoln, etc. But occasionally I'll see a Bentley, Aston Martin, Maserati, Lambo, or even a Maybach.
in the DC/MD/VA area - I'd say the European and Asian makers are pretty much equally represented. And I'd guess the models will match the % of volume they sell, but I feel like I see the SUVs much more - especially the RX and X3/X5s.
As with all regions, the models will also correlate with neighborhood/company types/locations. In NoVA in Tysons Corner, where you have a high concentration of management consulting firms (Booz, Deloitte, KPMG etc), you'll see more european cars as the demographics are young professionals. In high end neighborhoods like Bethesda/Potomac/Great Falls, you'll find more family oriented SUVs/Crossovers.
