Saab 9-7x which is a rebadged Chevy Trailblazer. Nicer exterior and interior and any chevrolet dealer can maintain.

If you go the Subaru Forester route go with a 2005 or newer to avoid the head gasket issues that plagued older Foresters? Alternatively a 2005 or newer Outback should work

Stay away from that piece of crap. I wont recommend the Tiguan to an enemy. Go for the Murano. VW maintenance cost is just plain robbery

Sounds about right. Even with an older GC, I wouldnt touch one without one of the V8s in it. The Liberties were all crap, I loved my original Cherokee, but the newest you would find is a 2001. The Patriot and Compass are useless, in my opinion.

You might also like to know the Murano isn't as safe as some:

My 2 friends with Tiguans traded theirs in. One in a toyota the other on a new Ford Explorer.
They wont be buying VWs again. Not that all VWs are crap.. They were just not happy with excessive repairs on Tiguans.

Seriously go to edmunds and read the consumer reviews on the XC90.. And proceed with extreme caution.

+1. I looked at the XC90 before buying my Jeep. I turned it down due to higher maintenance and repair costs and some bad reviews from owners. Plus I wanted true AWD, which the XC90 didn't have. Don't want a FWD SUV, but that's just my opinion.

Thank you guys. I think i have narrowed it down to the CRV& Murano after reading all of your recommendations Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it, now I just need to make a decision between these 2.... I am very ignorant when it comes to cars, so something easy to maintain and without too much hassle is what i am looking for

The Murano's not as safe as the CR-V... the crash test ratings are poorer.

I'd kill myself if I had to look at the dash of a 2005 CR-V for my 1.5hr commute each day.

WTF is that gun thing? lol
