I don't understand what is so aggresive and nasty about the car? And what's wrong with that anyways?
I see your point about the non-Ram Air, non-WS6 Trans Ams and Firebirds before '01, but the 02 last year models are pretty beast.
For a car packing 325 hp, sounds like a tank when you start it, and has a nasty aggressive look to it. It's the best bargain for anyone looking for power.
I have also heard that the 02 actually came stock 350 hp but they advertized it as only having 325 to not compete too heavily with the Corvette. Is this true or just a big myth?
Regardless, we're talking about a car that can match a low model Porsche at low cost.
In the hierarchy of cars (pre-2010) goes:
1. Viper
2. Corvette Z06, Standard
3. 02 Trans Am WS6
4. Camaro SS
5. Camaro Z28
6. Mustang GT, Bullit,

No one is doubting the straight line performance aspect. It's the styling that I'm not a fan of. I'm talking specifically about the 2002 WS6 although older Transams/Firebirds were equally unattractive.
When I first read this I wondered what the heck you were talking about. I assume you're referring to the 1977-1978 model. OP has a 2002. Hidden headlights, no honeycomb anywhere. Unless he's got a Jimmie Rodgers CD in the stereo.

Well I certainly agree with in regards to the non-Ram Am Air Firebirds. They're downright ugly.
But the improvement made with the 02 WS6 was amazing. It put it up there with the Corvette and the Viper as far as style and power.
The 60s Trans Am are beast too. They only started to get ugly in the 80s but much like most of the cars during the 80s, there were no exceptions.

My problem with performance pontiacs of this era were the nostrils, the multiple nose scoops (some real, some fake) which were the era's version of the screaming chicken of the 1970s. Gaudi!

Ive always liked F-bodies, but you're missing a few cars. You've forgotten about the base Corvette, the Shelby GT500 mustang(as well as lower Shelby models), and I'll even throw in the STi's and Evo's, which they might have a little less power, but they are a more well rounded performance car. In regards to the Porsche though, when comparing the two, who wouldnt take even a Boxster over the WS6? Granted the WS6 should be faster in a straight line, but the Porsche is about way more than straight line speed. The driving experience of the Porsche to the Pontiac is not even comparable.
