These long-term tests are just an excuse to have the car for a year. You can't learn a thing about reliability from a single car.

With the car reliability survey I conduct, our minimum is 25, and I prefer 40+.

The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee had a rough start, but it's been pretty good for the past year or so:
