How cute is that car! Now I want one of those. I dont think I've ever seen one like that before.
It's a 1924 Dodge Brothers Business coupe that my wife's grandfather bought new in 1924 in eastern New Mexico. I have the original title and it runs. When we inherited it, it had been parked in a west Texas barn since 1942. I believe it has 30-odd thousand miles on the odometer. It has wooden wheels, a wooden steering wheel and mechanical brakes only on the rear wheels. I really need to get it repainted and have the leather upholstery reworked before my daughter inherits it.
Nice 'Vette! What year is that? I have a brother who started out racing Corvettes. I think his first one was '62.
thanks High Plains, it's a 71, we have had a bunch of them since 1970, been workin' on this one on and off since last summer, should be ready to roll in a few weeks, still workin' the bugs out, it sat for many yrs unused and needed some help.

I think it's really cool she will inherit the car. Great family heirloom.
Right now my wife thinks I had better like my '24 Dodge Brothers coupe. However, I had much rather have a "driver" like a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria or a 1957 Chevy Belair Convertible.

Yes, the Dodge was "born" before I was. You should have seen the face of the local BF Goodrich dealer when I ask him if he could put tires on the car! Luckily, my wife's family had also saved a couple of the old rim tools. After discussing the problem online with some very helpful fellows in the Dodge Brothers Club, I installed the tires myself.
My favorite is the 57 chevy convertable, but I'll settle for a hard top. What the heck, I'll take a 4 door as well or the nomad. I also like the 57 ford fairlane. Of course the 55 and 56 chevy's as well. I like the 49 merc as well as some of the similar models. All years of the 1st gen mustang, especially the convertables. The pontiac GTO's are up there as are the chevelles. I also like the early broncos.

My dad had a '57 Chevy 4-door when I was a kid. I have always believed that, when you open Webster's dictionary to the word automobile, there should be a picture of the 1957 Chevy 2-door hardtop Belair or the '57 convertible.
I had a '56 Ford Fairlane in my last two years of high school (1966-67). Someone told me I wouldn't need a car in the military, so I sold the car in 1968 when I entered the Air Force. Of course, the first thing I needed after basic training was a car. Throughout my four years of service, I had a '64 Dodge Polara 440 (2-door hardtop with the 318 cu V8) and later a '68 Chevy Nova (2-door, with a 307 V8).
I don't have pics (that I know of) of the Polara or the Nova but here's one of the Fairlane. I don't have pics of the motor but I had rebuilt it with a high rise cam, a 500 CFM Holley carb (big back then), OE Thunderbird finned aluminum valve covers and all the other assorted engine adornments. That old engine had the long stroke of an oil well pumping unit and the sound was magnified by a pair of cherry bomb glass pak mufflers.
I am assuming this next car is a type of bugatti but it's so unique looking. Anyone else seen a car like this?
