I don't think I have asked this here so here it is.
I have a 2006 F-250 Diesel 4x4, just turned 85,000 miles-that has the battery light come on and off. The specialized experts at the ford store had a chance to fix it twice at my expense and couldn't find the problem. They had it a week each time. I have also had it into the auto stores and they put their trouble readers on it-no fix so far.
I got the alternator changed out and they said they checked all the wiring. I have heard this is not a uncommon problem with these and this year. I bought it used so if there is any starting place please point me there. Thanks in advance.

personally, I'd try another forum.
thedieselstop is my go-to for all things Powerstroke...

Personally, when my battery light was flickering this winter (on my '97 PSD), it just meant I needed to replace a battery. It didn't throw any codes, though.
Good luck with your pickup. The '06 is still that defective 6.0 motor, so I hope this is the worst of your troubles!

PS: If you live in central Wyoming, I guarantee there's more than one local shop that will work on your pickup. (I've never been particularly impressed with my Ford garage)
He won't advertise as a diesel mechanic, but for as many Powerstrokes and Cummins as are running around in cattle country, it's a safe bet there's more than one local garage that works on them.
