It is BS and noise pollution all rolled up on one.

I like the sound of a nice engine, but simply loud isn't the same thing.

Does loud bass from a car stereo save lives?

LOL..over the years, we've had 2 people complain about the "loudness" of our cars. They were both 80+ yr old women. Welcome to their club.
Reminds me of a few years ago...we were living in the hills of the Napa Valley in Ca. We had a Shelby Cobra (my namesake) and we were on our way to a show. It was 6 am and we didn't want to offend the neighbors, so we decided to push/ roll the car out of the neighborhood. One of the neighbors happened to be out getting his paper and offered to help push. We explained what we were doing and he just cracked up. That night we had no less than 15 emails from neighbors, telling us they loved the roar of our cars engines!

Depends on the vehicle. Most cars, I think it's fine... unless it's one of those ricey Hondas with a big fart can exhaust, those sound awful.

I also don't like Harley's. It's obnoxiously loud since the pipes have much less length than a car.

Agreed! We're talking the 67 Vette....which is where the pic was taken this afternoon on a run.

Love the '67 Covette; a true cult classic.

I love a deep, throaty exhaust on most vehicles except something I drive on a daily basis. Motorcycles, classic cars, muscle/sports cars, etc all need to have a deep exhaust note, but I would rather drive something a bit more mute to and from work. It's a fun quirk to have a classic or Harley with a loud exhaust but quirks aren't always the best to drive on a daily basis, it takes away some of the fun.

That being said...if you ever plan on selling your '67...send me a DM.
