I got a 99 suburban currently has 285/75/16's on it but I want wider and slightly taller tires...what should I go with? Not trying to break the bank but gotta get new tires before winter hits.

Tire size calculator

You can use that calculator to play around with. It will give you an idea how much your speedometer will be off with the larger size as well

Are you sure larger tires will fit and not rub?

To answer both questions. Why because its got a 2 inch lift on it and it looks silly with the tires it has on there right now. Yes they will fit and not rub thanks to the lift on it. The taller is not a big deal but really want something slightly wider.Looking at everything from 295-325/75/16's.

If they offer the size, go with 295/75/16. This will be slightly wider and slightly taller.
Dont go more than 10mm wider unless you know the rim can handle it.

And don't buy spendy tires, as any lift will chew through them fast.

315/75-16

That is a mud tire. I prefer an all season tread unless you are ACTUALLY going to seriously off-road.

Not much offroading just every now and then...mostly just regular driving. I will look into the 295/75/16's.

If you're not going through bottomless mud pits, a 235/85-16 tire would work much better in all conditions for the suburban. It will do better in snow and will be easier on steering.
