So, YES we are very serious about speeding offenders here in Ontario.
Really??? Coming from someone from Toronto? The handful of times I have driven through there and it isn't gridlocked the flow has been around 130 KPH on the major 400 series highways and there were still morons weaving through that.

That's also very true lol
125/130 is pretty common on the 401, and is generally the normal flow. If you get picked out of the bunch, there isn't much you can do about it.
He should have said "The Ontario Government takes speeding very seriously"
Rarely, if ever, I'd imagine. Just go with the flow of traffic. If you're on the 401, pay attention to white hash marks on the sides of the highway. If you start seeing those, that generally means in that area, from an airplane, the OPP is using those to time you between hash marks (1km apart), and let a unit a few clicks ahead know you're on the way.
If you have a CB radio, you will be alerted to any "bears in the air" several miles away. You know the old saying - CB radio waves travel faster than cop cars or airplanes.
When I was driving in Canada, that crossed my mind for about two seconds, and I laughed it off. (I'm no idiot, and the police aren't either, so it's best not to play games.)
Actually, I was unusually careful to follow the speed limit, and only cruised at 4-6 KPH over even though I could tell it was customary to go more like 10 over, even 15 over on freeways and divided highways. I even had plenty of "close followers" who I presume wanted me to go faster, but I didn't care. No way in hell did I want to deal with law enforcement and the courts in a foreign nation. There were some places where there were few if any passing lanes, so there were times I just pulled over and let a line go by rather than risk a speeding ticket.
I was in no hurry of course. I gave myself almost three weeks to do less than two weeks worth of driving.
It wont work. You have KPH indicated on your speedometer, there is no excuse. Also, FYI it will be a royal pain the ass too if you do not address the infraction, they will eventually put you on the naughty list and you will not be allowed to re-enter until it is taken care of.
really? my 66 mustang, and my 64 falcon dont have kph indications on the speedometer.
By the way, a simple driving tip in Canada,, where distance signs are in Km. There is a handy Mile/Km converter scale right in front of you, in the dashboard. It doubles as a speedometer. If the sign says your city is 42 Km, just look at your speedometer at the Km gauge, see where 42 is, and the matching mark will tell you the miles on the Mile gauge ring.
For this lucky coincidence, we owe the miraculous fact that an hour is the same in Canada as in the USA.
