I have been asked why my choice is 1981 for last of good cars. Ever have the door/arm/rest/ only thing to pull the door shut with come off in your hand and you had never pulled the door hard to shut it from inside the car/truck? Yeah, the 80's and 90's were full of those junky designs!

We did put new style wheels and tires on a friends 70 GTO, and with traction his low 14.02 with old bias tires turned into 13.50's, but the biggest gain was from 93 mph to 107 mph! I'd say not bad for the completely stock 4020 lb tank his car is with only a 3.23 gear! His 60ft went from 2.6 seconds down to 2.2, still slow getting off the line, but it is a stock vehicle (he even searched and found o.e.m. choked it mufflers! yuk !)

That they were, but I must confess I was puzzled by that post....cause I can't think of a specific model that was ruined for '82, but ok in '81. Then again, there are lots of models that I have no interest in and thus have not been on my radar.

Serious? 3.23 means not a RAIV engine. What type to do 107mph trap speed stock?
