Help! New to the forum.
Recently bought a 2014 Town and Country touring and on two occasions the ignition has shut off while driving. Both times it happened while driving about 10-15km turning right into a parking lot.
Has anyone heard of this happening with the 2014's.
Any idea what it might be?
Took it into the dealership and they couldn't find any error codes on it. They want to give it back but I just can't drive it. I can't risk my family.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

They couldn't find any codes !!

They need to run a full system diagnosis on the complete ignition system !!

The crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor are hall effect devices.

The camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position sensor generate square wave pulses that are inputs to the PCM.

The PCM determines engine position from these sensors.

The PCM calculates injector sequence and ignition timing from crankshaft AND camshaft position.

Shutting off like this could be the TIPM - it wouldn't be the first problem like this for Chrysler products and there is an investigation curently - NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans

I'd take it back to the dealer with this and see about getting a new one.

Second the TIPM.

Had two of them go bad on an 08 Wrangler. The first time it would just "shut off" the electronic throttle body - engine would run but no throttle input. Had to shut off and start it back up and it would be fine.

Then it decided to constantly activate the sentry system. Would run for 20 seconds, then turn off.

Update: After days of being at the dealership. The fob key loses its connection when it goes over a bump. They said only thing they can do is change it to a keyed ignition or push start one. So that's what they will do. The head tech told us this has been a problem with the fob key in a lot of models.

Thank you for your comments. They also said that having extra keys on the key ring weighing it down can cause this problem. Unbelievable really!
