I live in the Southeast, so dont need a 4x4. But I would like to lift it, so I prefer that 4x4 (cant afford an FX4). Dont wanna do that to a 2wd (its false advertising).
I build the truck I like on Fords website every so often. The MSRP on what I build is 31,000 new for a 2014? XL with rubber floor mats and roll up windows. 2wd 5.0 auto, supercab 6 1/2" bed, aluminum wheels, cd, tow package, positraction, and chrome bumper, cruise control.
looks like an FX2 crew cab w/o leather and navigation, etc. stickers for about $40k (msrp).
the used one i like (2013) has 8500 miles on it, and at $29,990.
i'd gladly save $10k to get the used one w/ just 8k miles on it.
Are you going to pick up Op are you still trying to decide between it and a 4x4 Silverado or the Fx2 F-150 cause if you like the F-150 I would just find a lower trim F150 with 4-wheel drive.
Since 4x4's hold their Re-sale better and they are easier to sell and do not depreciate as fast or as much as a 2WD truck.
I mean 2W upmarket luxury version of full-size trucks are a hard sell the only ones that do sell in 2WD trim are the basic bare Work Truck versions IMO.
Going with the 4WD version is worth the extra $$$ IMO esp. since you do get a lot of it back in Re-sale value and you will get more offers on it from out of state from buyers that live in northern states that get harsh wintery climates and so it will be easier to sell later on.
the fx2 i like a lot, its at vic bailey honda in spartanburg SC if anyone cares to look at it online. but its almost 500 miles away, so not sure i can make the trip yet.
