Just sayin... most people get their first car when they're between 16-18 right? The only way an 18 year old can afford a 5 series is if they're dealing something illegal.
Although he didn't say when he owned that car, the BMW 528E was made in the 80's.
I see kids driving $17K Honda Civics to high school...a 20 year old BMW isn't really that big of a deal these days. NADA is only $4K.

I realize that it was an older model BMW, but I recall McKinneyOwner is an older man so I assumed he was a teenager in the 80's and bought it new or a couple years used.
My first car was a white, two door, automatic, 1980 VW Rabbit and I paid like $600 or $700 for it. I had it about 6 months when the engine was fried, as I was driving on I-95. I found out later that some douchebag had loosened my oil pan plug so it fell out as I was driving. It was a great little car and I had just gotten it fixed up and running like new.
A 1986 Iroc Z-28. Fast as hell and we had a lot of fun in that thing but man the repairs Constantly replacing power steering pump, starter, alternator, etc etc. Way too much upkeep so no I don't miss it, plus it didn't have T-Tops so eh, kinda boring.
I kinda do even though it was a rattle bucket and got poor gas mileage. It sure looked great though.
It's a shame that GM never really sorted out this car. I was a big fan of the styling and the overall size.
Nice looking first ride -- it DOES look great!
